For this assignment, you will be selecting an ethical issue (I have already chosen Embryo Editing) in genetics from the Innovative Genomics Institute and performing library research on that topic. Your final essay should include enough background information for your peers to be able to understand the topic and why it is an ethical issue, a discussion of both sides of the issue, and a conclusion reflecting your opinion on the topic. The essay will be 600–700 words, two-pages, double-spaced at 12 point font, and include 3 references (citations must be complete to receive full credit with a minimum of 2 peer reviewed research articles). I will show you how to get the peer-reviewed research articles. I will be providing the tutor with an outline given to structure the essay.
Your final essay should be 600-700 words (about 2 pages, this value doesn’t include your references) and double-spaced. Make sure to include:
Enough background information for your peers to be able to understand the topic and why it is an ethical issue,
A discussion of each of the opposing sides of the issue (the “side A” and “side B”),
A conclusion reflecting your opinion on the topic, and
References (3 references, 2 of which need to be from peer-reviewed sources) formatted according to the ASM style guidelines. Remember that part of the essay requirements are to have at least 3 references and that 2 of these references were to be from a peer-reviewed source.
